Critical Issues faced by the Girls
- Gender-based Violence, Burden of Household chores
- Negative cultural attitudes and practices against the girl child
- Limited Employment Opportunities, Mobility Barriers, fear of getting harassed in outstations.
- Poor Access to Higher Education, Lack of Educational investment vision of parents among girls.( After the COVID-19 There are a challenging numbers of Girls who have been dropped out in the middle of the graduation courses and that’s leads the probability of getting early marriage.
- Poor Health expenditure and planning for girls in families and poor implementation of Govt services.(RKSK etc).
Key Efforts Made Against Issue
- Group Formation and collectivization the girls for common cause
- .Development of Girls Icon as change leaders and encouraging them through providing the fellowship.
- Identification and listing of school drop out Adolescent girls and Organizing the intensive counselling sessions with parents.
- Capacity building of Girls on various forms of Gender Based Violence
- Encouraging the Girls to interrupt the violence and consider it unacceptable.
- Identification the girls from vulnerable circumstances and Vocational Skills development these Adolescent girls
- Formation of male support Groups and their Regular meetings..
Key Outcome Achieved
- 75% Adolescent girls from the kishori Groups are enabled to ensure their agency, their mobility barriers are removed.
- There are 25700 Girls who have been well covered during the intervention through various efforts ,sensitization ,training ,exposure and counselling on Agency Building, Gender and Human Rights ,menstrual hygiene ,Education, Self defense , & Leadership Development.
- Total 2150 Young change leaders have been identified and trained.
- 70% Adolescent girls realizing their basic ,Adopting precautionary measures in reproductive health and hygiene needs
- Adolescent girls of Groups have talked about their life choices
- A Good Number of Skilled girls who have been covered through vocational training are contributing and supporting to their family.
- Girls have opposed against various incidents of violence in their family and community.
